    This clear, concise and very informative book is a welcome and timely re-write of, what has become, THE essential reference source for equine students and horse business owners. The authors have distilled their varied and extensive experiences of working and teaching in an equine environment into an easily readable, logical and understandable format ideal for busy people to dip in and out of as necessary. The contents are comprehensive without being overwhelming and the whole book is full of common sense tips on how to avoid pitfalls and how best to organise finances, staff and time. If you only buy one book on Horse Business Management, make it this one!

    OK, it seems a lot to spend on a book if you are a student or in equine business but you NEED this book if you want to know how to do “what it says on the tin”. This fourth edition has been updated to reflect the changes in equine education and business. The authors manage to address all issues affecting everyone from begineer to experienced business owner without patronising or assuming. This is the book that should be on every equine students wish list and that every horse business owner/employee needs as a reference point. It is quickly readable and easy to flick through too – the authors haven’t compromised quality and offer you their valuable experience from years of equine business experience. I have this book and can (and will) recommend it to anyone.

    This has been much needed, at last an equine business book with dedicated content on quality, customer care, marketing and success orientated. I found all the chapters easy to read yet highly informative, love the updated style from the 3rd edition. The book was orientated throughout to exploring the factors of success and I found it pulled together all the different aspects well. The new chapter on event management was also very interesting and made me look at shows and events in a way I had not done before. I’m sure this book would give anyone interested in the mechanics of running a horse business or studying equine studies an invaluable head start and it is packed with concise and useful information. I also found the compendium of organisations in the UK relevant to horse businesses very useful and a welcome addition in the appendices. Overall a good read, highly informative and useful.
